The Progressive Era

I don't really follow the news as much as I probably should so the bombings is news to me and i love America but why are we still fighting the middle east.  We Don't need to be in a war in order to survive, but that is kind of what it seems like.  We are getting into trouble it seems like all the time recently and I won't just blame Trump like others might but he is a little more reckless than some presidents before him especially with his presence on social media.  I have no interest in America getting into a war that could turn into a world war, we don't need to deal with another one of those we have already had two to many.

Antiwar.com says that Yemen town mourns family of fifteen after a U.S. air strike.  We are not helping anyone my instigating or retaliating against others.  People already know that the U.S. is a powerful and dominant army if trifled with so why do we insist on fighting nonsense wars that just wind up killing our fellow Americans, I know if I were in the military it would seem like my job is pointless with out someone to fight but the military isn't about finding someone to fight it is about being able to defend the place you call home.

Civil War & Reconstruction

Google and Facebook being investigated for Antitrust suites is very interesting.  It is said that google is almost turning into a monopoly and controlling advertising pretty much for everything you search.  People should be able to use google for the truth of what is the best for the need they are searching for not the information that is giving them the most money in order to be shown.  It is Ironic that I am writing this post right now on google and now that I am actually paying attention to it I do seem to see more ads popping up all the time and in the past Advertisements were never really a thing I would see the second I connect to wifi or click on the google chrome app.

I don't know if this really breaks any amendments but it is a little disconcerting that everything we look up is really a just first come first serve in an ad perspective.  Facebook's issues are similar but not nearly on the scale of google case. Its been reported that google revenue last year was $137 Billion and income was $31 Billion which is a ridiculous amount of money.  It is said that this year google will control 31% digital ad dollars and Facebook is number too which would make sense why they are the two under investigation by the justice department.

Supreme Court

The Supreme Court is the highest court system in the United States Judiciary System.  They are in charge of making sure that both the other branches of the government and the courts below them are following the constitutional law set before them two hundred years ago.  There are nine justices each chosen by the president usually to serve for about sixteen years but not limited to sixteen.  About seven thousand cases that get brought to the supreme court every year and only about one hundred of those cases get approved by the justices to go through the system and come to a decision.  The justices meet once a week in order to discuss decisions of cases and for all the Justices to be able to speak their mind on what their opinions are on the case at hand.

Each justice has a team of secretaries and law clerks that help in every way they can so that the justices can focus on making the correct decisions on each of their cases, including reading the written arguments of the lawyers for the cases and creating a memo of the most important part of the case for the justices to review before each case starts.  Even after the cases are over and it is up to the justices to sit down and discuss their cases and when they come to a majority after a few weeks of discussion a write up of the done of the case decision that can be rewritten multiple times by both the majority and the minority until the final drafts are done by the end of the term to have their final decisions delivered to the press and released to the public.
